Count not the candles, see the lights they give. Count not the years, but the life you live.

This afternoon, we had a birthday party for four children (two other children had birthdays this month, but unfortunately couldn't be here today).
Today's festivities began with introductions, as the birthday students gave their names and ages. It was quickly followed by everyone singing, "Happy Birthday". After that beautiful rendition, we had a round of question time; the guests of honour answering questions given by the audience. Everyone gave some very interesting and a couple of surprising answers.
Next came a game of Pictionary led by Akiko-sensei and Ryusaku-sensei. The game involves one person drawing a picture on the whiteboard of a picture card they have received. Then, everyone else are tasked with guessing what they have drawn a picture of. The entire school gave it their best in trying to get the correct answer!
Afterward, Encho-sensei read a funny traditional Japanese folktale about farting. Everyone laughed their heads off!
Soon after, she was given a great surprise as everyone sang and dance to, "Paprika" (a song written by Yonezu as part of the NHK 2020 Song Project leading up to the Tokyo Olympics).
Finally, everyone ate birthday cake!
